ReplyOnce a day I pick up trash dropped or thrown from cars, sometimes filling a plastic grocery bag. Most appears to be snack and lunch items (even silverware!) discarded by students on their way to the junior high school or a nearby bus stop. Perhaps the schools could educate the children to not litter as, apparently, they are not being taught at home.

ReplyWas sorry to hear of Darryl Briston's passing. He helped me twice with property vandalism when he was on the Swissvale force. Though he later had problems, he was very professional in the dealings I had with him. Much too young to leave this world.

On the article Patch Poll: Which Race Has the Most Annoying or Negative Campaign Ads?

ReplyAlmost half of the members of Congress are multi-millionaires or millionaires: 40% of the House of Representatives (73 Democrats, 101 Republicans) and 67% of the Senate (37 Democrats, 30 Republicans). If you believe their own campaign ads, almost half of Congress is not looking out for the average guy, the middle class – us. They are looking out for themselves. On Election Day you get to choose between the lesser of two evils. Not much of an option, so choose wisely.

ReplyPennsylvania election laws are rigged in favor of the Democratic and Republican parties. Third party candidates must obtain more than 3 times as many signatures on petitions for state-wide positions as Democratic or Republican candidates. Independents have no voice at all. It is time to have open primaries in Pennsylvania.

ReplyStray cats are the least of Swissvale's problems. Alley Cat Allies has a trap, neuter, return program that works, as does Animal Friends.

DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW!! It is absolutely awesome. Mr. Crone and the cast did a fantastic job, as usual. It is hard to believe these are high school students - they are first class, real pros.
