Shop 'n Save Offers 20-Cent Pump Perks

The promotion comes at the same time as Giant Eagle's.

One day after Giant Eagle announced a 20-cent fuelperks! promotion, Shop 'n Save contacted Patch to tell us about the stores' 20-cent pump perks happening during the same time duration. Shop 'n Save shoppers will receive 20 cents off per gallon of gas for every $50 they spend on groceries from May 16 through May 29. The limited time promotion aims to double customers’ savings at the pump in advance of one of the busiest travel weekends of the year. According to TripAdvisor’s 2013 Summer Travel Survey, one out every three people will drive between 100 and 200 miles to reach their destination this Memorial Day weekend. "This is the time when people are gearing up for long trips and when gas prices tend to rise as well,” said Bill Lipsky, …

Giant Eagle Offers 20-Cent Fuelperks Storewide

The promotion is available for a limited amount of time.

For a limited time, Giant Eagle customers who spend $50 will receive double fuel perks at GetGo fuel and convenience store locations. The incentive runs through Wednesday, May 29. Giant Eagle estimates the incentive will result in about 2 million gallons of free fuel. The promotion comes just in time for the Memorial Day holiday weekend, when millions are expected to travel the nation’s highways. The bonus free fuel reward increases the traditional 10-cents per gallon fuelperks! discount earned for purchasing …

UPDATED: Giant Eagle Ending Foodperks

The program is 'a little too complex.'

Giant Eagle is ending Foodperks.. The last day to earn Foodperks will be Feb. 13 and discounts must be redeemed by May 31. In a letter to customers, the CEO said customers thought the Foodperks program was "a little too complex." Only a small percentage of customers received significant savings, according to Giant Eagle. The program gave customers a 1-percent discount on groceries for every 10 gallons of gas purchased at GetGo gas stations.  Giant Eagle's Fuelperks program will remain. Giant Eagle is also rolling out a new 3-cent …

The article in yesterday's paper has them (GE) saying this about the foodperks! program: "about 92% of them (customers) saved less than $40 over the preceding 12 months." I find that REALLY hard to believe! Especially since I myself try to avoid shopping at this dreadfully over-priced chain with lousy customer service, yet recently received a summary in the mail saying I had earned $203 in …   more ›
