The winners have been announced for Upper St. Clair Community Day's ninth annual Bake-Off.
The cake creations made by Upper St. Clair kids for Community Day's ninth annual Bake-Off looked like they could be featured on a TV show like Cake Boss. The five judges—comprised of community members and Upper St. Clair School District employees—had a tough decision on their hands Saturday while determining the best cakes in the home sweet home and most original categories. Skincare, wellness and fitness professionals joined forces on Sunday evening to promote healthy living and support breast cancer awareness.
Pink cocktails, red wine and white cake played second fiddle to health, philanthropy, and sisterhood on Sunday evening, when more than two dozen women united to benefit breast cancer awareness while discussing ways to help women improve their lives in meaningful ways. Kids, feeling crafty? Enter Peters Township Library's Aug. 25 cake decorating contest, sponsored by The Pie Place.
Calling all kid bakers, decorators and fans! The Peters Township Public Library is hosting a cake decorating contest Aug. 25 in the library multi-purpose room from 6:30-8 p.m., sponsored by The Pie Place in Upper St. Clair. The contest is open to anyone who wants to decorate cake, there's just one twist—kids must do it themselves! There are three age categories—8 and under, 9-13, 14+. Prizes will be awarded in each category, as well as the fan favorite. Not interested in decorating? Join in on the fun by helping to choose the fan favorite, enjoy refreshments from The Pie Place, or buy one of the entries in a silent auction. Each cake entry costs $10.
