The Upper St. Clair School District is under a two-hour delay on Wednesday, March 6. Kindergarten will follow a modified schedule. All CCAC classes will begin at 10 a.m. Classes, labs, clinical experiences and other college activities that end before 10:30 a.m. are cancelled. Other classes, etc., that would normally be in session at 10 a.m. should meet at 10 a.m. All other classes, etc., will begin at their usual times. All administrators and staff should report at 10 a.m.
The kindergarten schedule will be modified.

Upper St. Clair Superintendent Patrick O'Toole ordered a two-hour delay on Tuesday and Wednesday this week because of the wind chill factor. Some Patch readers questioned whether the temperature would increase much in a two-hour span. "The temperature usually rises after sunrise. There is greater safety in general in daylight. We sometimes need more time to get all the buses started when there are extended periods of cold weather," O'Toole responded. O'Toole said the administrators try to make the decision to delay or cancel school the night before when possible to parents can "arrange child care." I have always thought the parents should care for their child and not farm that responsibility out to someone else! more ›
