Upper St. Clair School District is on a two-hour delay with modified kindergarten schedule Monday, March 18. A winter weather advisory is in effect until 2 p.m.

Two-Hour Delay for Upper St. Clair Schools

CCAC is also delayed.

The Upper St. Clair School District is under a two-hour delay on Wednesday, March 6.  Kindergarten will follow a modified schedule. All CCAC classes will begin at 10 a.m. Classes, labs, clinical experiences and other college activities that end before 10:30 a.m. are cancelled. Other classes, etc., that would normally be in session at 10 a.m. should meet at 10 a.m. All other classes, etc., will begin at their usual times. All administrators and staff should report at 10 a.m.

Two-Hour Delay Monday for USC Schools

The kindergarten schedule will be modified.

A two-hour delay is in effect for the Upper St. Clair School District on Monday, Jan. 28. The modified kindergarten schedule will be: Morning Session - 10:15 to 11:55 a.m. Afternoon Session - 1:05 to 2:45 p.m. Upper St. Clair is under a winter weather advisory until 1 p.m. Freezing rain is expected.

Superintendent Explains Decision to Delay School This Week

The Upper St. Clair School District ran on a two-hour delay Tuesday and Wednesday.

Upper St. Clair Superintendent Patrick O'Toole ordered a two-hour delay on Tuesday and Wednesday this week because of the wind chill factor. Some Patch readers questioned whether the temperature would increase much in a two-hour span. "The temperature usually rises after sunrise. There is greater safety in general in daylight. We sometimes need more time to get all the buses started when there are extended periods of cold weather," O'Toole responded. The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh issued a wind chill advisory for Upper St. Clair on Tuesday and Wednesday. O'Toole said class is not always canceled or postponed when there is an advisory in effect, however, parents "should expect the possibility of a delay." When the two-hour …

O'Toole said the administrators try to make the decision to delay or cancel school the night before when possible to parents can "arrange child care." I have always thought the parents should care for their child and not farm that responsibility out to someone else!   more ›

USC Schools on Two-Hour Delay Tuesday

On Monday afternoon, the Upper St. Clair School District issued a two-hour delay with modified kindergarten for Tuesday, Jan. 22. The modified kindergarten schedule is as follows: Morning Session - 10:15 to 11:55 a.m. Afternoon Session - 1:05 to 2:45 p.m. Here's the forecast from the National Weather Service in Moon Township:
