Police Release Surveillance Pictures of Louis Vuitton Handbag Heist

Police said the five suspects, working together, grabbed pricey handbags off the displays and were gone in less than a minute.

Ross Township police have released photos of the five people suspected of a coordinated-shoplifting hit on the Louis Vuitton store in the Ross Park Mall Thursday night. Police said the five walked into the store around 8 p.m., and working together, grabbed the pricey handbags off the displays and were gone in about 30 seconds. By the time employees realized what was going on it was too late. "The employees did attempt to confront the actors when they fled the store," said Detective Brian Kohlhepp. "No one was injured and no customers were ever in danger." Shoplifters Hit Louis Vuitton in Ross Park Mall

Police say they have leads and are reviewing surveillance video.

Ross Township police are looking for five people suspected of walking into the Louis Vuitton Store in Ross Park Mall Thursday around 8:00 p.m. and walking out with an undetermined number of handbags. Store officials were conducting an inventory Friday morning to determine the extent of the loss. The designer handbags aren't cheap, with some costing over $1,000 apiece. "Based on surveillance video it does appear that these five individuals were working together," said Ross Police Detective Brian Kohlhepp. "The store was open at the time and employees did attempt to confront the actors when they fled the store.
