Post-Christmas Hours for Area Malls

Some malls have special hours to accommodate returns and sales.

To accommodate seasonal sales and the returns of items purchased, many Pittsburgh-area shopping malls will have special hours of operation for the week following Christmas Day, while some malls will simply revert back to their regular schedules. See below for a list of area malls and their hours from Dec. 26 through Jan. 1. Also, see if those malls will keep their children's ride-along trains up after Christmas. All restaurant hours may vary.

Police Release Surveillance Pictures of Louis Vuitton Handbag Heist

Police said the five suspects, working together, grabbed pricey handbags off the displays and were gone in less than a minute.

Ross Township police have released photos of the five people suspected of a coordinated-shoplifting hit on the Louis Vuitton store in the Ross Park Mall Thursday night. Police said the five walked into the store around 8 p.m., and working together, grabbed the pricey handbags off the displays and were gone in about 30 seconds. By the time employees realized what was going on it was too late. "The employees did attempt to confront the actors when they fled the store," said Detective Brian Kohlhepp. "No one was injured and no customers were ever in danger." Shoplifters Hit Louis Vuitton in Ross Park Mall

Police say they have leads and are reviewing surveillance video.

Ross Township police are looking for five people suspected of walking into the Louis Vuitton Store in Ross Park Mall Thursday around 8:00 p.m. and walking out with an undetermined number of handbags. Store officials were conducting an inventory Friday morning to determine the extent of the loss. The designer handbags aren't cheap, with some costing over $1,000 apiece. "Based on surveillance video it does appear that these five individuals were working together," said Ross Police Detective Brian Kohlhepp. "The store was open at the time and employees did attempt to confront the actors when they fled the store. Three new stores are opening on the other side of town at Ross Park Mall.

Three new stores will open this summer at the Ross Park Mall, mall officials announced Thursday.  They include:  Vera Bradley, which caters to women and offers designer handbags, luggage, stationery and accessories. Vera Bradley, based in Fort Wayne, IN, has 52 retail stores in the United States and eight outlet stores. Madewell, a casual woman’s clothing store launched by J. Crew Group Inc.
