Sports bars in and near Upper St. Clair are happy to have the Pittsburgh Penguins playing again after the long lockout, despite Wednesday night's loss. "We are extremely happy that the Penguins are playing again. There was a real void in the Pittsburgh sporting world. We definitely saw a difference in our night bar business once the college football season ended. We get an enthusiastic crowd for the Pens games," said Barbara Joyce of Stonepepper's Grill. Stonepepper's doesn't have any specific special for Pens games, but they do have a special for every night of the week. The restaurant is currently looking to hire servers, cooks, bartenders, custodians and more.
A new Primanti Brothers will open in Pittsburgh mid to late June. The restaurant is located at 1539 Washington Rd. in the former Coldwell Banker real estate office behind the BP gas station. "We had been looking along Route 19 for a long time and when this location came up, we jumped on it," said Marc Teklinski, director of operations and Upper St. Clair resident. The Mt. Lebanon location will be the family-owned restaurant chain's 10th suburban location in Pittsburgh. It will be a sit-down restaurant with a covered porch for an outdoor dining option. Primanti's kitchen will open at 11 a.m. for lunch and close at midnight on Sundays through Thursdays and 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. "We identified a need for the expanded kitchen hours …

Judges of the hit Fox reality TV show—Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler—as well as host Ryan Seacrest, have been in Pittsburgh since Wednesday.
The City of Pittsburgh is known as the City of Champions sports-wise, and the "American Idol" judges said there's a good chance they might find the 11th season's champion here. "This is the City of Champions, the perfect spot to find our new superstar," said Ryan Seacrest, the show's host. Judges of the hit FOX reality TV show—Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler—as well as Seacrest, took a break from the audition process on Thursday afternoon to hold a press conference at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh. The concept of the series is to find new solo recording artists.
