Upper St. Clair Man Arrested in Major Drug Bust

Pittsburgh police have arrested a total of 43 suspects.

The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Narcotics Investigations Unit arrested 43 people, including a man from Upper St. Clair, after a 10-month long drug trafficking investigation in Carrick. David Neil, 23, is charged with delivery of heroin and conspiracy to deliver heroin. Eleven more arrests are still pending. Detectives began their investigation in April 2012 after numerous neighbor complaints. They seized 6,654 stamp bags of Heroin (street value of $66,540.00); 113 grams of crack cocaine (street value $13,560.00); 44 Xanax pills, 15 Vicoden pills, 6 Percocet pills, (combined street value of $650.00); five grams of marijuana (street value $100); 50 grams of K2-synthetic marijuana (street value of $1,000); six grams of hashish (street value $…

Upper St. Clair Theft Suspect Charged With Six More Burglaries

Jason Hoffman was arrested while sitting in the Allegheny County Jail.

Pittsburgh Police arrested Jason Hoffman, 33, of Mt. Washington, on Monday as he sat in the Allegheny County Jail because of a burglary charge he faces in Upper St. Clair. Pittsburgh police charged Hoffman with six burglaries in Mt. Washington.  Upper St. Clair police arrested Hoffman for burglary on Feb. 27. Inside Hoffman's vehicle, Upper St. Clair police found numerous items they believed to be stolen outside of Upper St. Clair, including a Giant Eagle Advantage Card and a Duquesne University class ring, according to a Pittsburgh police press release. Unsolved Cases: Pittsburgh Woman Missing Since September 2006

Devin Janelle Brown-Bousetta disappeared from her home.

More than six years ago, Devin Janelle Brown-Bousetta, 25, disappeared from her Mt. Washington residence in the City of Pittsburgh. She has not been seen since Sept. 5, 2006, and that was at her home near Southern Avenue and Natchez Street. Her vehicle—a white, 1995 Chrysler Cirrus LX—was later located in Pittsburgh. Devin is described as a black/Hispanic woman, 5-foot-2 and 115-120 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. She has a flower tattoo over her right breast, the name "China" on her left arm and "Chinese woman" on her back. Authorities say she also has a scar on her earlobe from previous tear, a burn scar on upper right thigh, pierced ears and a gap between her upper front teeth. Devin speaks very slowly. …

Unsolved Cases: Woman Went Missing Almost Two Years Ago

Amanda Marie Koller was last seen or heard from in June 2011, just after she moved back to Pittsburgh from Florida.

Amanda Marie Koller had moved back to the Pittsburgh area from Orlando, FL in May 2011. The 23-year-old did not establish or maintain a permanent address in the few short weeks after her return, according to her mother. On Sunday, June 12, 2011, she was stopped by Pittsburgh police and cited for operating a vehicle without a valid inspection and also without an emissions inspection. Her car, a purple 2005 Scion TC has a Pennsylvania license plate and also one from Florida, both of which expired in 2011. The license numbers are Pennsylvania GLH 0116 and Florida ANA 4580, according to the Pennsylvania Missing Persons website. She has not been seen nor heard from since. Unsolved Cases: Jacob Lipp Went Missing in December

This man had a fight with his girlfriend in the Strip District, and then vanished.

Jacob "Jake" Lipp, 27, did what many young adults do on the weekend—head to Pittsburgh's Strip District for the night life. He left his home in North Huntingdon Township. Westmoreland County, about 8:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, and ended up with his girlfriend at the Static bar on Smallman Street. The couple left the bar and then had an argument in the early morning hours on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012. The girlfriend drove off, leaving Jake in the parking lot. He walked in the opposite direction, back toward the bar. She circled the block and went back, but Jake was already gone. Courtney Baltimore, 16, has been missing from her home in Pittsburgh since Oct. 23, 2012. According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, she might have traveled to Hazelwood or Philadelphia. She is described as 6 feet tall, 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Zoo Officials Explain Why 2013 Calendar Features Painted Dogs

The dogs mauled a 2-year-old visitor to death in early November.

Less than a month after 2-year-old Maddox Derkosh of Whitehall Borough was mauled to death at the Pittsburgh Zoo, news has surfaced that the zoo's 2013 calendar features African painted dogs, the same species that killed the boy in early November. Zoo officials say that the calendars, featuring the dogs in its March spreads, had already been printed and made available to patrons before Derkosh's death, according to Huffington Post. Maddox was visiting the zoo with his mother on Nov. 4 when he fell from the top of a platform railing to the ground inside of the pit area of the dogs' exhibit, according to a statement from the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police. USC Grad Dies From Fall in the South Side

Andrew Guzzi graduated from Upper St Clair High School in 2005.

The death of an Upper St. Clair High School graduate on the South Side early Sunday morning has been ruled as accidental, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office. Andrew Guzzi, 25, of Dormont, died of blunt force trauma to the head after falling three stories off a fire escape at the corner of 18th and Carey Streets. Three Gateway Center Hostage Stand-Off: A Timeline of Events

Update: The stand-off ended peacefully. Here for a full story.  An armed man continues to negotiate with police as he holds a hostage onthe 16th floor of Three Gateway Center, Downtown. No shots have been fired, and no one is hurt in the hours-long standoff, though one to two individuals are being held hostage in the offices of law firm Breitsman Associates, police said.  The suspect is identified as Klein Michael Thaxton, 22, according to KDKA and WPXI. Police initially said he is from Altoona, Blair County, but court records show his address as McKeesport. Pittsburgh Police Locate Baby Taken From Magee Womens Hospital

Investigators have a suspect in custody in the abduction of infant Bryce Coleman, who was taken from Magee-Womens Hospital Thursday afternoon.

After searching for more than three hours, Pittsburgh Police have located a 3-day-old boy who was abducted earlier today from Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC in Oakland, police spokeswoman Diane Richard said. Police also have one person in custody in connection with the abduction this afternoon of infant Bryce Coleman, Richard said in a statement.  "The baby has been located . . . and is en route back to Magee to confirm that it is the (abducted) baby," Richard said She did not release any other information but said more details would be "forthcoming" from police.
