Chipotle Set to Open in January

The Mexican restaurant will replace Pearl Vision.

A new Chipotle Mexican Grill is set to open in Upper St. Clair on Jan. 23, according to a Chipotle official. The restuarant joins Norman Centre on Washington Road in the former Pearl Vision store. In September, commissioners approved the addition of 22 more parking spots to accomodate the restaurant. What do you think about the addition of Chipotle to our neighborhood? Additional Parking Approved

Norman Centre will get 22 more spaces to accommodate restaurant patrons.

Additional parking for Norman Centre has been approved. Upper St. Clair commissioners voted to allow expansion of the parking area to accommodate 22 more spaces in the office-retail complex, off Route 19. A retaining wall, guardrail and additional buffer features also are in the plans. An as-yet-unnamed restaurant is taking the place of longtime tenant Pearl Vision, requiring more parking. “We’re not at liberty to make an announcement as to who that is,” Robert Sapsara, vice president of Norman Centre management company Crossgates Inc., told commissioners at their meeting on Sept. 4. Final approval of the Willowbrook Estates PRD has been recommended by the township planning commission.

Final approval of a new residential plan is expected to come up for Upper St. Clair commissioners’ consideration on Tuesday. Willowbrook Estates PRD has been recommended for approval by the township planning commission. In August, the board of commissioners granted tentative approval by a 4-3 vote. The 10-acre development calls for 15 new single-family homes off Willowbrook Road and Oaklawn Drive. Plans include building an extension from Willowbrook as a private street and connecting the northern and southern portions of Oaklawn. During public meetings addressing the project, neighboring property owners have expressed a variety of concerns about storm-water runoff. Plans have been revised during the past few months in an attempt to provide…
