'Open Mike' With Superintendent Planned for Wednesday

Parents and community members are invited to ask questions with Dr. Patrick O'Toole.

The PTA Council is hosting an "open mike" with Superintendent Patrick O'Toole and Upper St. Clair School District administrators on Wednesday night. Parents and community members are invited to the event at 7 p.m. on Nov. 7 in the Upper St. Clair High School LGI room. The topic will be customizing learning in Upper St. Clair. Administrators will give a 20-minute presentation and spend the rest of the time answering questions form the audience. "The school district has a strong belief in the vision set forth in the district's tagline, 'Customizing Learning, Nurturing Potential ... Delivering Excellence,' in all that we do," O'Toole stated. The PTA's last open mike topic was the budget.

School Budget Discussion Planned for Wednesday

The PTA's open microphone forum this spring will focus on the Upper St. Clair School District's budget.

Every spring, the Upper St. Clair School District administrators and PTA members host an open microphone forum. This year the focus will be on the district's budget. Are you concerned about a potential tax increase? Do you have questions about the school budget process? If so, plan on attending the discussion from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14 in the Boyce Middle School auditorium. Superintendent Patrick O'Toole, Assistant Superintendent Sharon Suritsky and Business Manager Frosina Cordisco will be on hand to make a presentation and answer questions. PU, It's not an excuse, it's a fact. The unfunded pension liability and the state pension structure is simply not a sustainable system. Please quit reading beyond my words. I do not support increase in taxes beyond what the Act 1 limit.
