Upper St. Clair Under Frost Advisory

Frost is possible Saturday morning.

It's going to a be a chilly start to the Memorial Day weekend. The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for Upper St. Clair.  The advisory will remain in effect from 3 to 8 a.m. Saturday as temperatures hover around 32 degrees. Severe Thunderstorm Watch Expires for Upper St. Clair

The watch expired early.

Update: The thunderstorm watch has expired. A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for southwestern Pennsylvania, including Upper St. Clair. The watch remains in effect through 10 p.m. Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service, which says some storms cound be severe with damaging winds.  The chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected mainly after 5 p.m. and before midnight.  If you take any weather photos, please share them in the media box above. Severe Thunderstorm Possible Wednesday Afternoon in Upper St. Clair

The primary threat would be from damaging wind gusts.

There is a small chance that thunderstorms may become severe Wednesday afternoon in Upper St. Clair, according to a hazardous outlook issued by the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh. "The primary threat would be from damaging wind gusts, but large hail is also possible," the statement says. National Weather Service Issues Freeze Warning for Upper St. Clair

Unprotected plants will be damaged.

Upper St. Clair and the surrounding area is under a freeze warning from 1 to 8 a.m. Tuesday. The National Weather Service predicts temperatures may dip into the 20s overnight. Meteorologists warn that unprotected outdoor plants will likely be damaged or killed, so cover the plants and bring potted plants indoors. The temperature is expected to rise throughout the week. Freeze Warning Issued for Upper St. Clair Monday Morning

Protect your plants!

Call it winter's last gasp. The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for Upper St. Clair and the surrounding area Monday morning. The warning goes into effect at 1 a.m. until 9 a.m. The temperature is expected to dip into the 20s. A freeze watch also remains in effect late Monday night through Tuesday morning. Frost Advisory In Effect Friday Morning

Cover your plants.

The National Weather Service located in Moon Township issued a frost advisory for Allegheny County from 3 to 9 a.m. Friday. Temperatures are expected to dip to 33 to 35 degrees. Severe Thunderstorm Watch Expires for Allegheny County

Wednesday's forecast includes a chance of showers.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Allegheny County Tuesday until 11 p.m. Showers and thunderstorms are likely, according to the statement. Wednesday's forecast in Upper St. Clair includes a slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon, and a high near 70. Warmer Temperatures On the Way After Thursday Morning's Record Low

The weekend forecast looks much warmer.

Warmer temperatures are on the way after Pittsburgh experienced a record low temperature Thursday morning. The National Weather Service in Moon Township recorded an unofficial low temperature of 19 degrees at Pittsburgh International Airport at 6 a.m., which broke the record low of 20 degrees in 1954, according to the Post-Gazette. Watch Upgraded to Winter Storm Warning: Snow Totals Increased

The snow is expected start Sunday evening.

The National Weather Service, located in Moon, has issued a winter storm warning for the entire Pittsburgh region, including Upper St. Clair, beginning 11 p.m. Sunday through 11 a.m. Monday. Forecasters say the snow will be most intense from midnight Sunday through the pre-dawn hours of Monday, accumulating 4-7 inches before ending by Monday afternoon. Freezing Rain and Snow Predicted for Upper St. Clair

The morning commute could be a tricky one.
