Photos: Miracle Field Milestone

It was a special moment for everyone involved in the development of the Pirates Charities Miracle League of the South Hills.

Friday was a momentous morning for the people involved in the Pirates Charities Miracle League of the South Hills. Around 11 a.m., a team of men and a forklift raised a 500-pound bronze plate—shaped like a baseball field—honoring the people and companies who donated a large amount of money to build the baseball field designed for kids with special needs. Event to raise money for the construction and maintenance of the Pirates Charities Miracle League of the South Hills Field.

On Sunday, August 21, the Nevillewood Neighbors will host a pool party and cookout at the Club at Nevillewood to benefit Casey’s Clubhouse and the Pirates Charities Miracle League of the South Hills Field. The party and cookout will take place from 4–8 p.m. and will feature live music from local band Moscow Mule. Rita’s Italian Ice will be providing free Italian ice for all attendees and matching all cash donations made at the event. Former MLB All-Star and Upper St. Clair resident Sean Casey and his wife, Mandi, founded Casey’s Clubhouse in 2010 to help fulfill the Miracle League’s mission that “every child deserves the chance to play baseball.” Through a fundraising campaign the charity raised more than $1 million for the construction of…

Casey's Clubhouse has raised enough money to build a Miracle Field in Upper St. Clair.

After all the hard work of raising money to build a Miracle Field in Upper St. Clair, Casey's Clubhouse has announced it is ready to break ground. Construction will officially begin on June 9 at Boyce Mayview Park with a ceremonial groundbreaking. Sean Casey and his wife, Mandi, will be on hand, to celebrate the hard work of all the volunteers, sponsors and supporters that made the project become a reality. The Caseys, of Upper St. Clair, started fundraising to build the field for people with special needs in the fall. Less than a year later, they have raised enough money to build the Miracle Field.
