Freezing Rain Expected During Friday Morning Commute

The weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Pittsburgh area Friday morning.

Expect freezing rain and ice accumulations of about a tenth of an inch on Friday. The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Upper St. Clair that is in effect from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. The freezing rain is expected to begin between 6 and 8 a.m. and end between 1 and 3 p.m. The National Weather Service warns of hazardous travel conditions because of ice-covered roads.

Mixture of Snow and Freezing Rain Expected in USC During Monday Morning Commute

A storm that could bring snow and freezing rain is expected to hit the area shortly after midnight Monday.

The Monday morning rush hour is shaping up to be troublesome with a storm that could bring snow and freezing rain to Upper St. Clair. The National Weather service in Pittsburgh has issued a winter weather advisory from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday for most of western Pennsylvania. A mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is expected overnight into Monday morning. Because very cold ground and snow pack, roads and sidewalks are expected to be icy. This storm comes just a few days after Upper St. Clair was hit with about 5 inches of snow Friday and Saturday. The storm caused numerous traffic accidents and delays around the Pittsburgh area. Winter Storm Warning Issued for Upper St. Clair

Snow and freezing rain are causing dangerous travel conditions.

Upper St. Clair residents and holiday visitors woke up to dry conditions Wednesday morning, but snow and freezing rain are on the way. The National Weather Service in Moon Township issued a winter storm warning for Upper St. Clair and surrounding areas Wednesday morning. Timing Snow will develop by mid-morning. A period of very heavy snow is likely from mid-morning into early this afternoon. Precipitation will taper to light snow or freezing drizzle this evening.
