St. Clair's New Year's Baby Is a Boy

The baby is named after family members who came to America on the Mayflower, according to Dad.

Alden William Johnson was the first baby born in 2013 at St. Clair Hospital. Alden arrived at 8:26 a.m.—four days after his due date—and weighed a whopping 11 pounds, 3 ounces. "It's exciting, 1-1-13, it's definitely memorable. It's totally not what we were expecting," said Alden's father, John Johnson. "The nurses were excited, too. Especially with him being such a big baby." John said he and mom, Jessica Johnson, might have been a bit more nervous than the average first-time parents. They are both nurses. "Well we know more than most people, so we get nervous. But everything went well. No problems," John said.
