Families of the Diocese of Pittsburgh are invited.
Bishops David Zubik, William Waltersheid and William Winter will welcome families of the Diocese of Pittsburgh to their annual Blessing of Families at 2 p.m. on Easter Sunday, March 31, at St. Paul Cathedral in Oakland. The free event takes place on the 3-hole golf course.
Upper St. Clair's annual Easter egg hunt will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, rain or shine. The free event is sponsored by the Bethel-St. Clair Evening Rotary Club and the Upper St. Clair High School Interact Club, with the assistance of the Upper St. Clair Department of Recreation and Leisure Services. Children should bring their own small baskets to hold the candy-filled eggs. Child-friendly activities begin at 10 a.m. at the shelter behind the old Recreation Center on McLaughlin Run Road. The Easter Bunny will be there, too; parents should bring their own cameras for a photo opportunity. At 10:45 a.m., there'll be a drawing for a grand prize prior to the start of the egg hunt. One year ago today, crews responded to a structure fire at the local shop.
Following a fire one year ago today—Feb 3, 2012—at the Sarris Candies plant in Canonsburg, company President Bill Sarris announced that all is well and that the company is back in full production in preparation for the early Easter holiday. “We got through last Easter with a limited amount of items available due to the fire," Athena Sarris, chief executive officer, said. "We lost a lot of chocolate molds and weren’t able to provide the selection we’ve had in years past." That won't be a problem this year, though. "But this season, we’ll have a huge selection of new bunnies and novelties to fill everyone’s baskets,” she continued. Over the past year, new construction of all devastated areas—including the ice cream parlor and candy store—was…

The store is offering half-off all things Easter in the store and online until midnight Thursday (or while supplies last).
The parking lot at Sarris Candies was filled and people lined up outside the shop's doors even before the store opened Monday—all for a chance to be among the first to pick up some of its remaining Easter candy, which is now half off. The Canonsburg store's after-Easter sale commences today and ends at midnight Thursday (or while supplies last) both in store and online. Favorites such as the Peanut Butter Meltaway Egg, for example, will be sold for $7.98 instead of the normal $15.95 pricetag. What's your favorite Easter treat from Sarris Candies? Children had breakfast with the Easter Bunny, did crafts and hunted for eggs on Friday at Trax Farms.
Friday morning's turnout for Trax Farms' Breakfast with the Easter Bunny was eggcellent! The annual event was sold out. Parents and children from the area gathered for a bite to eat, some crafts, quality time with the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt. Most of the parents who talked to Patch said they came for Breakfast with Santa in December and knew they must return for the Easter event. The Easter Bunny hand-delivered cereal to the children, and they also had mini donuts, an orange drink and an apple. Parents enjoyed fresh coffee, water, pop or orange juice, breakfast sandwiches, donuts and muffins. Kids colored for a coloring contest while eating. The first egg hunt started at 10:30 a.m. continued every 30 minutes through 2 p.m. Upload …

There are a few ways to watch the rabbit's progress.
On Christmas Eve, NORAD lets kids go online to track Santa Claus on his journey from the North Pole, but it doesn't do the same when the Easter Bunny hits the bunny trail tonight. There may be other ways to spy on the fuzzy guy as he hides his eggs, though. We found this online tracker that shows a satellite view of the Bunny's hideout and says it will start following his progress Saturday. A new site called TheBunnyTracker.com is up and keeping tabs as the rabbit hops around the world. There's also an iPhone app called Easter Bunny Tracker for 99 cents that offers a map of where the Bunny is on his journey. Best bet to make sure he visits your house tonight is to leave out some carrots or lettuce. Word is, the Easter Bunny will happily …

The Easter Bunny is making a special appearance at Cupcakes N’At in Bridgeville and helping kids decorate cupcakes for the holiday. Youngsters and their parents streamed into the shop along Station Street not long after the doors opened at 10 a.m. Friday to decorate their free cupcakes while the bunny kept a close eye.
