WV Woman Accused of Stealing from CVS, Headed to Trial

The latest from the office of Magisterial District Judge Robert Wyda.

A West Virginia woman accused of stealing from the CVS in Upper St. Clair is headed to trial. Corrina Holloway, 44, of 67 33rd Street, Wheeling, WV, is charged with two counts of retail theft and one count of criminal conspiracy. A CVS employee testified at Monday's hearing, claiming he saw Holloway stealing on surveillance video two separate times. On July 21, he said the tape showed Holloway and an accomplice taking an Alli pill box from the pharmacy area, then taking the pills out of the box and tossing the box behind toilet paper. On Sept. 4, the employee said he the surveillance camera captured a similar situation—this time he said the Alli box was stashed behind envelopes. Hearing Continued for USC Mother Charged With Giving Alcohol to Minors

The latest from the office of Magisterial District Judge Robert Wyda.

After the lawyer representing the Allegheny County District Attorney's office and the lawyer representing Cynthia Simpson met on Monday, it was decided to continue the preliminary hearing for the Upper St. Clair mother charged with selling or furnishing alcohol to minors and corruption of minors. Upper St. Clair police stated in a criminal complaint filed with district Judge Robert Wyda that they found Simpson in physical control of the her house located on 2625 Sunnyfield Drive where an underage drinking party was allegedly going on. Police stated in the complaint that they found more than 20 juveniles, a marijuana pipe, and half full and empty cases of beer in the yard. Upper St. Clair Mother Charged After Underage Drinking Party

Officers found more than 20 juveniles at a party with alcohol, according to a criminal complaint filed by Upper St. Clair police.

Editor's Note: Charges were withdrawn against Cynthia Simpson on Oct. 17, 2011. Police charged an Upper St. Clair mother with selling or furnishing alcohol to minors and corruption of minors after officers received an underage drinking party complaint on July 27. According to the criminal complaint filed with district Judge Robert Wyda, police found more than 20 juveniles, half full and empty cases of beer, and a marijuana pipe in the yard of 2625 Sunnyfield Drive, the home of Cynthia M. Simpson, 47. The complaint stated Simpson was in physical control of the property and was "wide awake."
