Major Construction Project on Local Intersection Resumes April 1

There will be fewer restrictions than there were last year.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11-0's $3.9-million roadwork project at the Broughton Road-Baptist Road intersection in nearby Bethel Park resumes on April 1, weather permitting. But there will be fewer restrictions than there were last year. The following restrictions will be in place beginning at approximately 7 a.m. on Monday, April 1, and lasting through mid-October: The project is creating mobility improvements at this busy intersection, which sees about 28,000 vehicles on an average day, according to PennDOT. Work includes reconstructing and widening the intersection to add turning lanes, improved drainage, retaining walls, new traffic signals, curbing and bituminous resurfacing. The prime contractor is Plum …
