These 3 Places Are Cool Right Now

Where to take your family to beat the heat in Upper St. Clair.

With a heat index in the mid-to-upper 90s, it's smart to take your family to a cool place.

Here are three local spots to beat the heat:

1. Check out the Upper St. Clair Community and Recreation Center's pool:
If you don't have a membership, a daily pass to use the facility is $12. Kids under 2 are free.

2. Go to a movie:
There are free PG and G-rated movies at Chartiers Valley Stadium 18 in Collier Township (formerly Destina) Tuesdays through Thursdays at 10 a.m. Other nearby theaters include Galleria 6 at The Galleria of Mt. Lebanon and Carmike 10 by South Hills Village.

3. Check out the library:
Upper St. Clair residents are lucky to have a nice adult and children's library. It's located behind the municipal building. A special "Walk Like an Egyptian" program is planned for kids from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 18.
