Community and Recreation Center Pool Opens

This year light concessions will be available for pool-goers.

The Upper St. Clair 's outdoor pool will open for the season at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

The timing couldn't be anymore perfect with the predicting highs in the high 80s on Saturday and Sunday, and a high of 90 degrees on Memorial Day.

This year pool-goers will be able to purchase light concessions from AVI Foodsystems, such as sandwiches, salads and soft drinks.

The concession stand will be open this weekend and following weekends until school ends. Then the concession stand will be available from 12 to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays through Sundays. Be sure to bring cash.

If you plan on going to the pool as soon as it opens on Saturday, don't be surprised when you see a police officer directing you to the left when you turn into the recreation center's entrance. The will be taking place and the officer will be on hand to direct traffic and organize parking.

Chris Biswick, aquatics supervisor, said his staff is ready for this weekend's opening. There will be eight lifeguards on duty at all times.

The outdoor pool will be open every day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. However, on Monday, Memorial Day, the pool will close early at 5 p.m.

The indoor pool and indoor facility will also have shortened hours on Memorial Day—10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
