USC Swim Teams Hold Senior Night, Battle Bethel Park

The Upper St. Clair swim teams finish off an exhilarating regular season with an out-of-section rivalry meet against Bethel Park.

Eleven seniors on the Upper St. Clair Swimming and Diving team celebrated a very special season Thursday night with a non-sectional rivalry meet versus Bethel Park. The boys won 57-42, and the girls lost 59.5-42.5. Both solid performances against WPIAL championship caliber squads.

Senior night began with two pool records broken right off the bat. The Upper St. Clair girls got the crowd started in the 4 x 4 relay, then the four senior boys followed suit with a pool record of their own. Later in the meet, set a pool record in the 100-yard backstroke as well.

The WPIAL championships are March 3 and 4 at the University of Pittsburgh. Upper St. Clair will be well represented as a team and individually.  A record-breaking year for Upper St. Clair swimming will have a chance to get even better; a WPIAL championship is within their reach.
