USC's Conwell Weighing Options After Graham Leaves Pitt

Upper St. Clair football player who gave verbal commitment to play for Pitt said he feels like Todd Graham lied to him.

football player Dakota Conwell said he is weighing his options following Todd Graham's surprising departure as the University of Pittsburgh's football head coach.

"I was really disappointed. I felt like I was lied to," Conwell said.

Conwell took his official visit to Pitt last weekend.

"The coaches told us how excited they were. They talked about accountability, and then a few days later Graham was gone," Conwell said.

Graham announced his resignation from Pitt's football program on Wednesday morning after serving less than a year on the job. He was introduced as the head coach at Arizona State University at a news conference on Wednesday night.

Graham notified the Pitt team about his decision through a forwarded text message.

A big reason Conwell gave a verbal commitment to play for Pitt next year was because he liked Graham and his coaching staff. Conwell said he is now going to look over everything and weigh his options. He must decide where he will play football by Feb. 2.

Meantime, Conwell continues to recover from an ankle injury he . He received surgery on his ankle Thursday, Dec. 15, to remove a chipped bone.
