Upper St. Clair Football Player Making Dramatic Comeback

Rori Blair, who almost died from a stroke a year ago, has committed to play at the University of Pittsburgh.

Rori Blair is a powerful, 6-foot-3, 225-pound, two-way star for the Upper St. Clair High School football team—these days.

Rewind one year, however, and Blair was trying to put back on 50 pounds, struggling to walk and even to talk after suffering a stroke in April 2012 that would eventually force him to miss a large chunk of school, including Upper St. Clair's 2012 football season.

But on Friday, Blair, who has regained much of his strength and has been cleared to play football again, committed verbally to play next year at the University of Pittsburgh, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

That's the latest bit of good news for Blair, who has also been granted an extra year of eligibility by the WPIAL in order to play this year for USC.

"When I introduce him to people, I call him 'The Miracle,'" Upper St. Clair Head Coach Jim Render told the Post-Gazette.
