Upper St. Clair Basketball Teams Fall in Playoffs

The boys' team has 17-game win streak broken.

Both the boys' and girls' Upper St. Clair High School basketball teams fell in the WPIAL playoffs this weekend.

The boys' team lost to Seneca Valley Saturday, 44-34.

It took a long time for the Panthers to get on the board. Upper St. Clair was scoreless until the 4:44 mark of the second quarter, according to the Post-Gazette. In fact, only six points were scored in the first quarter—all by Seneca Valley.

USC didn't give up and fought back to make it 32-30 with 2:35 left in the game, but Seneca Valley went on to outscore the Panthers.

No better luck for the girls. The lady Panthers were defeated by Chartiers Valley on Friday, 55-52.

The Colts and Panthers were tied 11-11 after the first quarter and 24-24 at halftime before Char Valley prevailed.
