Both the boys' and girls' Upper St. Clair High School basketball teams fell in the WPIAL playoffs this weekend.
The boys' team lost to Seneca Valley Saturday, 44-34.
It took a long time for the Panthers to get on the board. Upper St. Clair was scoreless until the 4:44 mark of the second quarter, according to the Post-Gazette. In fact, only six points were scored in the first quarter—all by Seneca Valley.
USC didn't give up and fought back to make it 32-30 with 2:35 left in the game, but Seneca Valley went on to outscore the Panthers.
No better luck for the girls. The lady Panthers were defeated by Chartiers Valley on Friday, 55-52.
The Colts and Panthers were tied 11-11 after the first quarter and 24-24 at halftime before Char Valley prevailed.
