Support the Steelers & 'Break the Broncos' at Rally on Friday

Locals can cheer on the Pittsburgh Steelers before the first playoff game against the Denver Broncos.

It's time to cheer on the Pittsburgh Steelers before their first playoff game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

A “Break the Broncos Rally” will be held at noon on Friday, Jan. 6, around the Terrible Tree in the courtyard of the Allegheny County Courthouse.

and Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl are asking those attending the rally to support the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank by bringing a canned good, non-perishable food item or cash donation.

WDVE’s Val Porter will serve as emcee of the event, and Kardaz will provide live music. Fans are encouraged to bring black and gold decorations and Steelers paraphernalia to adorn the 20-foot Terrible Tree.

Dunkin’ Donuts will provide limited, free coffee, hot chocolate and coupons. There will also be a limited number of free giveaways courtesy of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Hometowne Sports. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Steelers trivia contest for prizes provided by and the Allegheny County Parks.

The County Executive and Mayor have also declared Friday “Black & Gold Day” and are encouraging everyone to show their support for the Steelers by donning black and gold.

The courthouse is at 436 Grant St. in downtown Pittsburgh.
