National No. 7 Upper St. Clair Opens Soccer Season 2-0

The boys' home opener is on Tuesday night at 8.

Upper St. Clair High School has begun its PIAA Class AAA boys soccer title defense in resounding fashion, going 2-0 at the East-West Classic at Highmark Stadium this past weekend.

In a rematch against the 2012 state runners-up from Wilson High School of the Reading area on Friday, the Panthers won, 2-0, followed up by another 2-0 win on Saturday over Exeter Township High School, also of the Reading area.

With the Panthers now set to begin WPIAL play—they face section opponent Chartiers Valley High School on Tuesday night at 8 in their home opener—they are already ranked as the seventh-best boys high school soccer team in the entire United States by studentsports.com despite having played no games before the Aug. 27 Week One vote.

The newest rankings are due to come out sometime on Tuesday.
