You're Invited! Sixth Annual Thai Night Gala

Experience Thai culture at sixth annual Thai Night Gala at the Upper St. Clair High School.

The public is invited to attend the sixth annual Thai Night Gala, which will be held from 4:30-9:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, at the high school.

Thai cultural exchange students and teachers will showcase aspects of their Thai culture, including native costumes, the Thai language, festivals and events, massage, music and dancing, children’s games, and Thai cuisine.  A great cultural event for all ages!

Pittsburgh Thai-artist Sam Thong (who has a shop at Station Square) will be drawing caricature portraits as souvenirs for the evening. You can also have your name written in Thai on a souvenir bookmark by one of the Thai exchange students—hopefully he or she will help you pronounce your Thai name as well.

Visit the Thai market for a selection of reasonably priced Thai goods:  jewelry, handbags, various arts and crafts, silk scarves, ceramics and paper goods.

Traditional Thai cuisine will be served during the evening; sample foods like Thai green and red chicken curry, Pad Thai, stir-fried chicken with basil leaves, tofu with mixed vegetables, and Thai papaya salad. To guarantee your meal, tickets for dinner should be purchased in advance by contacting Luck Groves at 412-221-4816 or 412-298-0122.

The Thai Night Gala is free to the public, except for dinner and the market.

This event is one of the largest fundraisers for the self-supported and self-funded Thai-USA Student Cultural Exchange Program, a program between the USC School District and several high schools in Thailand.
