USCHS Students Take Home Science Awards

Three students won first place at the 78th Annual Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Sciences Regional Meeting and will move on to the state competition at Penn State.

The following students participated in the 78th Annual Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Sciences (PJAS) Regional Meeting at on Feb. 4 and received the following awards:

Grace Chen-10th grade (Biology)

Eva Roy-10th grade (Microbiology)

Deepikaa Sriram-9th grade (Physics)

Vijay Viswanathan-12th grade (Mathematics)

 

Vijay Viswanathan was also a recipient of the following awards:

Medrad Award for Excellence in Medical Research

Duquesne University Dept. of Mathematics and Computer Science Award.

 

The first place students will move on to represent in the state competition at Penn State University on May 13-15. The students were sponsored by Dr. Colin Syme, high school anatomy/biology teacher.
