USC School, Neighborhood Experience Temporary Power Outage

Despite a power outage, classes resumed at Boyce Middle School.

Power has been restored to 986 customers in Upper St. Clair, according to West Penn Power.

and customers in the Deerfield Manor neighborhood lost power shortly after noon Friday. The outage was caused by a tree that came in contact with a power line.

Around 1:30 p.m., crews restored power for the first bunch of customers. Around 2 p.m., power was restored for the rest of the area.

The school was operating with auxiliary power and the students are all safe, according to the Boyce Middle School's website.

The school also had its monthly fire drill at 1:05 p.m. Friday, which was not related to the power outage.
