Upper St. Clair Approves School Budget

Taxes will increase by $66 for the average homeowner in Upper St. Clair.

The Upper St. Clair school directors unanimously approved a $59,395,594 final budget for the 2011-2012 school year at a special meeting on Wednesday morning.

The budget raises taxes by .33 mills to 24.10 mills, or at the rate of $2.41 on each $100 of assessed valuation of taxable property. For a homeowner of a $200,000 house, the increase will be equivalent to about $66.

School directors plan to raise $50,000  for all  and  sports programs.

The budget also includes $133,043 from the fund balance—a move school directors have tried to avoid in the past.
