Teachers Take on Teachers for Special Needs Playground

Event takes place at 7 p.m. Thursday in Fort Couch Middle School's gym.

Students will be able to take joy in seeing their teachers compete against one another in basketball, volleyball and pin knockdown in an effort to raise money for Casey's Clubhouse.

The event begins at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Fort Couch Middle School gym. Organizers, led by teacher Brad Wilson, will be raising money through ticket sales, concessions and a variety of raffles to benefit Casey's Clubhouse.

Casey’s Clubhouse is the charitable foundation created by Upper St. Clair's Sean and Mandi Casey to raise funds for the Pirates Charities Miracle League of the South Hills. The organization is currently raising money to build a playground next to the Miracle Field. The playground will be designed for children with special needs, although it will be open for all children to use.

Along with the entertainment of watching the teachers compete, there will be an always popular pie raffle in which students will be able to "pie" a teacher in the face. A silent auction and 50-50 raffle will also be part of the fun.

This fundraiser in the past has raised in 2011 and in 2012.
