Kids Say the Darndest Things: Random Acts of Kindness Pledges

Boyce Middle School celebrate "Random Acts of Kindness Week."

is celebrating "Random Acts of Kindness Week" Jan. 9 through Jan. 13.

The counseling staff is coordinating a number of activities for our students including a story/poem and song/rap contest, staff appreciation week, kindness activities in guidance class and a special keynote speaker for student assemblies on Friday, Jan. 13, according to the school's website.

The fifth and sixth graders also created pledge cards that stated which kind acts they promised to perform. The cards can be found in the front lobby of the school. The following are 10 of my favorite pledges from students I found on the card display:

1. I pledge to clean my sister's messy room for her.

2. I will not beat up my brother.

3. Help my dad catch the mouse in my garage.

4. Give money to fundraisers.

5. Say hello to teachers.

6. I pledge to make my own breakfast in the morning.

7. I'll walk my dog every day.

8. Shovel my neighbor's driveway for them.

9. I pledge to help mom with dinner.

10. I promise to shine a smile brighter than the sun over Boyce.
