St. Thomas More MoreFest Starts Again This Week

The church/school in Bethel Park boasts a fine annual festival.

Even if you're not Irish, "country," Italian or Polish, you'll still find plenty to do at Saint Thomas More Roman Catholic Church's 2013 MoreFest, which gets under way this Wednesday, June 19, in Bethel Park.

The annual festival will run through Saturday, June 22, this year and focuses on four cultures—one per day—with music and food reflecting those cultures.

The festival opens nightly at roughly 6 p.m., but dinners are served from 5-7. Things should wrap up at around 10 on Wednesday and Thursday and at 11 on Friday and Saturday.

MoreFest is billed as "an event for the whole family." Food, games, rides, a flea market, bingo and a $10,000 raffle are all available.

Wednesday is Irish Night, featuring performances by the Corned Beef and Curry Band and the Shovlin Academy of Irish Dance, as well as an Irish dinner.

Thursday is Country Night, featuring performances by Steeltown and The Academy of Dance. A German dinner will be served that night.

Friday is Italian Night, featuring performances by Uptown Rhythm & Brass and Operation 45, as well as an Italian dinner.

Finally, Saturday is Polish Night, featuring a 5 p.m. "Polka Mass" and music to follow by Henny & the Versa J's. A Polish dinner will be served that night.

Event organizers are looking for more volunteers. Click here if you're interested in that.

Saint Thomas More Church is found at 126 Fort Couch Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15241.
