National School Rankings Just Released Put Upper St. Clair Near the Top

Upper St. Clair High School is among the top 2,000 high schools in the country, according to Newsweek and The Daily Beast.

Newsweek and The Daily Beast have compiled a list of America's Best High Schools and Upper St. Clair High School ranks 189 out of 2,000.

It's the best ranking received by a Pittsburgh school and the only other Pennsylvania public school ahead of Upper St. Clair on the list is Conestoga High School in Berwyn.

The rankings highlight "those that have proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready" graduates.

The list is based on graduation rate, college acceptance rate, AP test taken per student, average SAT and ACT scores, average AP scores and percent of students enrolled in at least one AP course. Here is a description of the full methodology.

According to the data compiled, Upper St. Clair High School has a graduation rate of 100 percent, with 98 percent of the graduates going to college, an average SAT score of 1726, an average ACT score of 26 and an average AP test score of 4.1.
