New Assistant Principal Starts at USC High School

Christine Mussomeli comes to the district from Pittsburgh Public Schools.

A new assistant principal is joining the staff at Upper St. Clair High School.

Christine Mussomeli has been appointed to the position previously held by Lou Angelo, who has been promoted to associate high school principal. She starts her duties today.

Mussomeli comes to the district from the Pittsburgh Public Schools Science and Technology Academy, where she was director of science, technology and engineering. She had been with Pittsburgh Public Schools since 2002.

A Peters Township resident, Mussomeli earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Duquesne University. She was selected from among 69 applicants for the assistant principal’s position.

“We are very happy to welcome Ms. Mussomeli to our leadership team,” said Dr. Patrick O’Toole, USC superintendent. “She brings to our district outstanding credentials and leadership experiences in both the humanities and the sciences. Moreover, she has a track record of success in challenging leadership positions.”

Nice to see a female face. 50% of the school has been woefully underrepresented in the HS for way too long.
