Got Old Furniture? Outreach Club Can Help

Don't throw away your old mattress or dresser. There are people in Pittsburgh who could use them.

The Outreach Club at is in need of beds, furniture and bedding to provide to formerly homeless Pittsburgh residents who have recently been placed in housing.

It's a win-win situation: The students can come to your home and remove the furniture from your home (which is also great since you're not allowed to sell used matresses in Pennsylvania), and a recent homeless person gets furniture for his or her new home.

If you can help, simply click here and fill out the form. For more information, email Mr. Coffman at kcoffman@uscsd.k12.pa.us.

Outreach Club was formed at the high school in December 2010. The club partners with Operation Safety Net, a charitable organization affiliated with Pittsburgh Mercy Health System. The organization actively seeks candidates for housing and, after a screening process, seeks to place the individuals in apartments and provide them with the supports they need to become independent.
