2012-13 School Calendar is Set

The Upper St. Clair School Board adopted the calendar on Monday night.

The 2012-13 calendar is set.

The school board unanimously voted to adopt the calendar on Monday night.

The first day of school is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 27.

Two teacher inservice days are scheduled for Monday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Oct. 30—making it a four-day weekend for students.

A teacher inservice day will take place on election day, Nov. 6.

Winter recess commences at the close of school on Friday, Dec. 21. School will start back up on Wednesday, Jan. 2.

Teacher inservice days are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 15 and Monday, Feb. 18.

Spring recess is scheduled to begin at the close of school on Friday, March 22. A teacher inservice day is scheduled for Monday, April 1. Therefore, students won't return to class until Tuesday, April 2.

No school is schuduled for Friday, May 24 and Monday, May 27 on Memorial Day weekend.

The last day of school is scheduled for Tuesday, June 11.

Snow make-up days include May 24, June 12, June 13 and June 14.

Kennywood day is June 17.

I'm impressed with the built-in 4-day weekends. Wish I had some of those when I was in school!
