"Am I a bit disappointed? Obviously," Williams said. "He is an experienced politician and knew how to run a good campaign. I was a newbie.

"I wish him the best in the next six years. I hope he continues to run the court effectively and efficiently. He's a good man."

Wyda said he will to continue to handle cases much same way as he has, especially drug addiction cases.

"Heroin is such a devastating drug, and yet so addictive," Wyda said. "Families are just screaming for help."

Wyda said he deals with the addiction cases in a non-traditional way because heroin requires quick and effective action.

Instead of sending the case to court in downtown Pittsburgh, Wyda's method forces addicts into treatment. If the addicts do not, it's incarceration.

"It's the most important issue that I deal with. It's not a Bethel thing or a St. Clair thing. It's everywhere. Heroin usage is as prevalent as ever," Wyda said. "Families need to be aware of it. And we need to continue to build the trust between the families and the law officials."
