Want to Go to a Military Service Academy? Attend This Session

U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy invites students and families to attend the annual Academy Information Day at Chartiers Valley High School.

Students and families in the 18th Congressional district, which includes Upper St. Clair, are invited to attend U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy's annual Academy Information Day at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, at Chartiers Valley High School.

Each year, Murphy (R-Upper St. Clair) nominates up to 10 outstanding high school students for open student slots at the nation's four military service academies: the United States Air Force Academy, United States Merchant Marine Academy, United States Military Academy and United States Naval Academy.

Students interested in attending one of the academies must receive a congressional appointment. The competitive process is open to students who display exemplary academic achievement and commitment to serving the community.

After that process, Murphy submits his nominations to each academy.
