USC Priest in Harrisburg for Inaugural Festivities

Priest from St. Lousie de Marillac Parish took part in the festivities for Governor Tom Corbett.

Father Michael Caridi, of Upper St. Clair's St. Louise de Marillac Parish, was one of the celebrants of the Celebration of the Mass in Harrisburg Tuesday morning. The Celebration of the Mass is part of the Inaugural festivities for Governor Tom Corbett.

The Celebration of the Mass took place at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Bishop Joseph McFadden, D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Harrisburg, was the celebrant of the Mass at the Cathedral of St. Patrick in Harrisburg. Joining Bishop McFadden was Father Caridi and Father Terence Henry TOR, President of Franciscan University of Stuebenville.

Governor Tom Corbett's official inaugural swearing-in ceremony took place outside the East Wing of the Pennsylvania Capitol Building at 11:30 a.m.

The Inauguration festivities end with an Inaugural Ball  at the Pennyslvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the event cost $150.

Republican Tom Corbett defeated Democrat Dan Onorato, both of Allegheny County, in November's general election for governor. Corbett's swearing-in marks an end to his six-year tenure as state attorney general.
