Upper St. Clair's County Representative Expected to be Chosen March 5

Councilman Vince Gastgeb resigned earlier this month.

The search is on to find the next Allegheny County councilperson to represent Upper St. Clair, Mt. Lebanon, Bethel Park and Bridgeville.

According to reports in the Tribune Review, the council will likely vote on a replacement on its March 5 meeting.

Allegheny County Council Republicans are taking applications through Feb. 25 from candidates interested in replacing Vince Gastgeb in the District 5 seat. According to the Post-Gazette, they hope whoever fills the temporary seat also would win the May primary and become the party's candidate to fill the remainder of Gastgeb's term, which runs through 2016.
