Upper St. Clair Named One of the Top Places to Work

The Post-Gazette and Workplace Dynamics conducted its survey of local employers.

was named one of the best places to work in the Pittsburgh region in a survey conducted by the Post-Gazette and Workplace Dynamics.

According to Township Manager Matthew Serakowski, an Upper St. Clair police officer initially nominated the township to the Post-Gazette.

After all nominations were received, Workplace Dynamics issued surveys to 1,002 employers across Pittsburgh. Based on what employees included in the survey responses, Upper St. Clair was chosen as one of the 85 top places to work.

When broken down into three categories—small, mid-size and large—the township was ranked 16th out of the 25 mid-size companies.

Township employees were presented their title during a reception and awards presentation at the Renaissance Hotel.

According to the Post-Gazette, companies that scored well enough to make the "Top Places To Work" list had at least 70 percent of their workers agree with statements such as: "This company operates by strong ethics and values," "I have confidence in the leader of this company," "My manager listens to me" and "I believe this company is going in the right direction."

Some quotes written in the employee surveys included: "The more difficult pieces of property are now being developed in new and innovative ways, and it is refreshing to see the township responding to the needs of the residents and taxpayers," "I enjoy the work and the people. The facility is beautiful. It offers me the flexibility to balance my personal life and my work," and "It's record and status of leadership as a premier suburb in the Pittsburgh area, and, it's desire to maintain it as such."

"The Township of Upper St. Clair and its employees are honored to be named to 'Pittsburgh's Top Workplaces.' This award is truly a reflection of the hard work, pride and dedication the staff has providing top-rated, unrivaled services throughout the township. We are proud to be a part of this organization and community," Serakowski said in an email.
