Upper St. Clair Celebrates National Public Works Week

Upper St. Clair is celebrating National Public Works Week May 15 through May 21.

The public is invited to attend an on Tuesday, May 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be activities for kids, tours and displays of the equipment and vehicles.

Commissioner Russell Del Re made the Public Works Week announcement at the Board of Commissioners meeting on May 2. He said the community is encouraged to acquaint themselves with the issues involve in providing our public works and to recognize the contributions which public works officials make every day to our health, safety, comfort and quality of life.

"You can tell aesthetically things have changed when you cross the township border, and that's not the only thing the public works department does," Del Re said. 

Del Re said he is especially grateful for the work done to clear the roads these past two winters.

"They make it safe for the school buses and everyone in the township," Del Re said.

"Thank you for giving us the tools for the work we do," Director of Public Works George Kostelich said.
