UPDATE: T Service Back To Normal

T service resumes regular routing through the Mt. Washington Transit Tunnel after delays on Monday.

UPDATE 10:30 p.m.: Port Authority T and bus service has been restored in both directions through the Mt. Washington Transit Tunnel.

Duquesne Light has completed repairs of an underground power line in the area of the tunnel that caused it to be shut down since Sunday night. The tunnel reopened to both inbound and outbound transit traffic about 8:45 p.m.

UPDATE 12:45 p.m.: Outbound T service has resumed regular routing through the Mt. Washington Transit Tunnel. Inbound T service continues to be detoured via the former Allentown line. Buses that normally use the tunnel are still detoured in both directions.

Due to the inbound detour, riders traveling inbound to Station Square must first go Downtown, then ride outbound to Station Square.

Delays are still likely and riders should allow for extra time when traveling.

T riders are being detoured via the former Allentown line. The former Allentown line does not serve Station Square; for T riders needing to travel there, Port Authority is running a local rail shuttle between Downtown and Station Square.

Duquesne Light is tending to a major power failure in the area and utility workers require access to the tunnel to replace underground lines. As a result, the tunnel was closed at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday and will remain closed until repairs are completed.

The power outage is not affecting any customers.

Port Authority bus routes that use the Mount Washington tunnel are also being detoured.
