Rep. Tim Murphy, Range Resources Spokesman Among Speakers at Marcellus Shale Festival

Want to learn more about Marcellus Shale? CBS Radio Pittsburgh will host the Marcellus Shale Festival at Stage AE in Pittsburgh on Thursday, Aug. 15, from 2 to 10 p.m.

The festival will be held indoors and out and is designed to "celebrate all that Marcellus Shale brings to our region," according to a news release.

Attendees can expect informational exhibits, breakout sessions, a KDKA town hall meeting, the Pittsburgh premiere of the movie FrackNation and a meet-and-greet with FrackNation journalist Phelim McAleer and co-producer Ann McElhinney. 

The day will be capped off with a show from national recording artist Phil Vassar.

NewsRadio 1020 KDKA personality Mike Pintek will host a town hall meeting at 3 p.m. on "Marcellus Shale—A True Public-Private Partnership: Maximizing the Resource" that will include a lineup of panel guests: U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy (who represents Upper St. Clair Township); Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald; state Rep. Jim Christiana; state Sen. Tim Solobay; and Matt Pitzarella, spokesman for Southpointe-based Range Resources.

The event is free to the public, but a $5 donation to the Mel Blount Foundation is recommended at the door.
