Preliminary Plans to be Presented for New Subdivision

Heartland Homes would like to build 13 new houses on the former Jordan estates land.

A preliminary plan to build 13 single-family homes on the former Jordan's estates is scheduled to be presented to the planning commission on Aug. 18.

Representatives for Heartland Homes began their process with the planning commission in July.

Representatives said they would like to see the six acres of land be turned into a 13-lot subdivision with sidewalks. The subdivision would be connected to Glendale Drive, off of Old Washington Road.

The representatives said crews would improve Glendale Drive by making a cul-de-sac at the end of the road.

Residents at the July meeting said they were worried about water run-off and the old Jordan estates fence that is falling down. Representatives said they would do whatever they needed to to make the neighborhood "more marketable."

The preliminary plan will give three adjacent homeowners extra land. The township will require written approval from the homeowners before the change could happen.

If approved, it would take "a couple of months for clearing and grading" before building could begin.
