New State Senator Stops By Upper St. Clair

Matt Smith introduced himself to the board of commissioners.

New state Sen. Matt Smith (D-Mt. Lebanon) introduced himself to the Upper St. Clair Board of Commissioners and other community members during the regular meeting on Monday night.

"I want to be proactive and offer my services and my staff's services so we can work together to make our community better," Smith said. 

"You're off to a great start with us. You're out there. We really thank you for that," said Bob Orchowski, president of the board of commissioners.

Smith defeated Raja in the November election to take over Sen. John Pippy's seat. 

Prior to that, Smith was the state House 42nd District representative.
