Commissioners Conduct Interviews to Fill Vacancy

Seven candidates spoke to Upper St. Clair commissioners on Saturday.

The Board of Commissioners held a nearly four hour-long as they work to fill the Ward 2 vacancy.

Seven candidates who are interested in finishing former Commissioner Mark Hamilton's term were interviewed.

Commissioners spent about 30 minutes with each candidate asking a variety of questions, including questions about the , how to maintain and increase home values and committment to running for re-election.

President Bob Orchowski concluded the meeting by saying he thought the commissioners had a strong pool of candidates to choose from and that no one would be a bad choice.

A decision on which candidate should be come Ward 2 commissioner will be made at the Upper St. Clair Board of Commissioners meeting on Monday, Jan. 30. The new commisisoner will be sworn in at the following meeting on Monday, Feb. 6.
