Upper St. Clair Christmas Tree Recycling Project Begins

What to do with your dried up Christmas tree.

It's a brand new year and time to take down your Christmas decorations.

Bring your dried up Christmas trees to the YMCA upper parking lot along McLaughlin Run Road. Be sure to remove all lights and decorations.

Upper St. Clair Public Works crews will be grounding the trees up for mulch for residents' use.

I love the idea of recycling the trees; however, I wonder how many folks actually take advantage of this since it's a bit of a pain to fuss with moving a dried tree (unless perhaps you have an open-bed truck). It would be great to offer curbside pickup - maybe for a $5 fee or donation ... might make for a nice fundraiser/service project for a local boy scout troop.

That really is a great fundraising idea!
