At-Large Commissioner Candidate: Glenn Dandoy

Candidate profile for the primary election on May 17.

Glenn Dandoy is running for the at-large position on the Board of Commissioners on the Republican ticket for a second term.

Dandoy is currently finishing up his fourth year on the Upper St. Clair Board of Commissioners, serving as the vice president.

"I've enjoyed making a contribution and I think I can make a difference," Dandoy said.

Dandoy said he's "learned the ropes" during his first term and thinks he needs a second term "to be most effective."

His main concern is making Upper St. Clair an affordable place to live.

"There are a lot of retired people who live in Upper St. Clair who are worried about taxes," Dandoy said. 

He said he knows this firsthand because he works for a local retirement community. Dandoy is the regional marketing manager for Country Meadows Retirement Communities in South Fayette.

"I'm very aware of people who want to stay in their homes but can't because it gets too expensive," Dandoy said. "There are more than 30 homes in foreclosure or in pre-foreclosure in Upper St. Clair and that concerns me. We also have people in Upper St. Clair who use the food bank."

Dandoy said his experience, integrity and in-depth knowledge of how the township government works make him a good candidate. He also said he has a good relationship with the board and the township employees.

and the high quality of life in Upper St. Clair attracted Dandoy to the area. He has a wife and five children.
