Another Weekend, Another I-79 Closure

Crews will close one lane in each direction near the Bridgeville exit.

Traffic problems on Interstate 79 are expected to continue this weekend as crews continue to work near the Bridgeville exit.

Crews will be working around the clock fixing seal joints and working on bridge decks from 7 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Sunday. Work will continue during the week each night from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.

and forced many people off the main interstate in search of alternate routes. Meanwhile, the northbound onramp at Bridgeville from Millers Run Road .

One of those alternate roads, Route 50, will also be under construction with single-lane restrictions from Bridgeville to Carnegie. Crews will be doing concrete patching, rebuilding intersection inlets and replacing curbs.

PennDOT said motorists should expect significant delays in that area.
